At Tucson Mold Inspectors we take pride in doing a quality job. We do not do any remediation, nor are we associated with any remediation company so we can give you an honest, unbiased inspection of your home or commercial building. We are not like some companies that come out take a few air samples and leave. We come out do a thorough inspection of your entire home, inside and out. We will also point of out any areas of concern and will recommend sampling as needed. We offer room air sampling, wall air sampling, surface sampling, and mycotoxin testing. We also offer post remediation inspections. So, if you are currently experiencing adverse health effects related to mold, are buying a home, or just want to verify you don’t have mold issues, give us a call today at 520-971-4073.
Fungal organisms (mold) can grow and multiply wherever suitable conditions of moisture and a food source exist. Leaks, water intrusion, and condensation can happen in any climate, we’re not exempt from mold due to living in the desert. Unchecked moisture problems can lead to extensive mold contamination in your home, workplace, or school. Even "dead" mold can still release mycotoxins. Questions About Mold Inspections
-
Q: Why is mold sampling important?
-
A: When inspecting a home for mold, taking samples of visible mold, or taking wall air or room samples can be vital in determining where the source of mold is. Not all mold is visible, some mold is hidden in walls. We will recommend sampling on a case-by-case basis. We only suggest samples that could be beneficial to you the client.
-
Q: Can’t you tell what mold is present by looking at it?
-
A: No, unfortunately no one can look at mold and determine the species without sampling and sending it to a qualified lab.
-
Q: Why do I need an outside air sample?
-
A: The outside spore count serves as a baseline as to what are normal molds in your immediate environment. If the inside spore count is elevated compared to the outside spore count, that is an indicator there is a mold problem.
-
Q: Is there anything I should or shouldn’t do to my home before a mold inspection?
-
A: We recommend keeping windows and doors closed the night before and morning of the inspection as well as turning off air purifiers.
